Common Inquiries

Frequently Asked Questions

Metadata tags explained.

What is EXIF metadata?

EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) is a standard specifying formats for images used by digital cameras and smartphones. It stores camera settings (aperture, ISO, shutter speed), creation dates, and sometimes GPS location coordinates.

Do all images contain location data?

No. Location data is only added if your camera or phone had GPS tracking enabled when taking the photo. Many social networks automatically strip EXIF metadata upon upload to protect user privacy.
